Hi, I’m Kerry

I am a female therapist, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I provide online therapy only, serving adult Women in 50-minute sessions on a fee-for-service basis. My practice is focused on counseling for grief and loss, navigating life-altering changes. ….Just call me Kerry.

I went back to school for my counseling degree in my 50’s and I’ve been practicing for 10 years.

My life history has taken me from suburban Boston to all over Europe where I have been a tourist, gone to school, and lived. My career started with my avid desire to be a published writer, being a programmer at the Harvard School of Public Health, followed by getting a PhD in anthropology. And when there were no jobs, I went through the rough times doing under the table work for cash at a local antique shop and juggling that with the part-time admin job and my hypnotherapy practice. In between, I worked for the Kids Vermont newspaper as well as the Rutland and Champlain Valley Business Journals- it was fun taking the kids along to play nearby while I interviewed a new business owner. So I got to be a published writer but, as any writer but Steven King will tell you, that doesn’t pay the bills. Interestingly, all these have come together during my longest running and highly successful gig as a psychotherapist.

So, my degree in Mental Health Counseling was from Union Institute and University.

The rest of my credentials in therapy - might be an interesting read - or not. Look in the FAQ section for details.

My first expat adventure was spending a year in VERY rural Scotland, a ferry ride away from the mainland. It was lonely, dark, cold and wet and when it was time to leave, it was incredibly difficult as I had built a life there, nonetheless. Undaunted, I spent 16 months on a Digital Nomad visa in Croatia, then moved to France where life was so easier, so much more like living in the US than previous expat times but not without struggles. So I understand the issues and stresses of expats making this kind of dramatic change. France is the third country I lived in as an expat and I know there were always new challenges to catch me up and, simultaneously, turn out to be the most adventurous times.

In this space, it is not so much counseling as support and coaching, navigational help, that I offer, with the insights of my counseling history to smooth the way.
